What's New in CredHill: Customer Ledger, WhatsApp Reminders and a GSTR-3B Summary

Four updates built around one problem: knowing who still owes you, nudging them without typing a message, and pulling your GSTR-3B numbers without redoing the math.

An invoice in CredHill used to end its life the moment you hit "create." It printed fine, it looked correct, and then it disappeared into a list — whether the client had actually paid it was something you had to remember, or dig out of WhatsApp, or ask your accountant about at month-end. That's the gap the last few weeks of work went into closing. Four things shipped:

1. Customer Ledger — who owes you, and since when

Go to Ledger in the sidebar and you'll see every client you've billed, sorted by how much they still owe you — highest first. Click a client and it expands to the actual unpaid invoices: numbers, dates, amounts.

The part that's actually useful is the oldest unpaid date. A client who owes ₹40,000 across three invoices from last week is a very different situation from a client who owes the same ₹40,000 but one of those invoices is 90 days old. The ledger surfaces that second case automatically instead of you noticing it three months too late.

Nothing to set up here — it's built entirely from invoices and clients you already have. Export any client's ledger to Excel if you need to hand it to your CA or attach it to a follow-up email.

2. WhatsApp payment reminders — no typing required

Every unpaid invoice in View Invoices now has a small reminder icon next to it. Tap it and it opens WhatsApp with a message already filled in — client name, invoice number, amount, and how many days it's been pending — addressed to whatever contact number is saved against that client.

We went with WhatsApp specifically because that's where these conversations already happen for most small businesses billing in India — not email, not a phone call. If a client's saved number isn't a valid 10-digit Indian mobile number, the button just shows why it's disabled instead of silently failing.

This is manual by design for now — you decide who to nudge and when, CredHill just removes the five minutes of typing the same message out each time.

3. GSTR-3B Summary — Table 3.1 and 3.2, done for you

GSTR-3B in the sidebar now pulls Table 3.1 (outward supplies, split by taxable/nil-rated/exempt) and Table 3.2 (inter-state supplies to unregistered persons) straight from your invoices for whatever period you pick — no re-entering numbers you've already put on an invoice once.

Being upfront about what this isn't: Tables 4 and 5 — input tax credit — aren't in here. ITC depends on your purchases and expenses, which CredHill doesn't track today, so those sections are clearly marked as not available rather than quietly left blank. Treat this as the outward-supply half of your GSTR-3B done automatically, with the ITC half still going through your CA or your purchase register as usual.

4. A monthly summary, emailed to you

The newest one, and it's off by default. If you turn it on (Profile → Monthly Summary Email), you'll get an email on the 1st of every month with last month's numbers: revenue, how much actually came in, what's still outstanding, your top overdue clients, and a quick GST breakup — B2B vs B2C counts, taxable value, tax collected.

We built in one deliberate limit: if you haven't created an invoice, quotation or proforma in the last couple of months, you won't get emailed. A summary of a business that's gone quiet isn't useful to anyone, so we just don't send it.

Why these four together

Individually each of these is small. Together they answer the three questions that actually follow "I sent the invoice": did they pay it, do I need to say something about it, and what does this add up to for GST. None of it required you to change how you invoice — it's all built on data CredHill already had.

As always: the GSTR-3B numbers are a starting point for your filing, not a substitute for your CA's sign-off — particularly once ITC enters the picture.

None of this needs setup

The ledger, reminders and GSTR-3B summary all run on invoices you've already created — open your dashboard and they're there.
